Fun, welcoming beginner class designed for dancers starting swing dancing from scratch followed by social dancing!
Begin your swing journey by exploring the basic rhythms, shapes, and moves you can use on the social dance floor straightaway.

Blues routine workshop
Saturdays Aug 15 and 22, 2026 - Ela Rose Studios (Fairfield)
An exciting opportunity to learn and perform a blues routine! Aimed at intermediate and above blues dancers keen to build their confidence in blues aesthetics, rhythms and performance quality
These sessions will run over 2 Saturdays and we are looking for a passionate dedicated group of dancers who love teamwork and are excited to support each other and create together. The performance will be at our Winter party on Saturday August 22nd for our wonderful Night Owls community.
Dancers need to attend both sessions in order to perform. Includes half price entry to the social night.

Saturday Aug 22 - I.AM.Dance Studios (Fitzroy)
Party with us as we celebrate our amazing Night Owls community! Showcasing student performances, a DJ debut and heaps of dancing! There might even be a surprise set to bring out the party!
8:00 pm: Beginner swing dancing lesson
8:30 pm: DJed swing (2 sets) and blues (2 sets) music with special student performances

Featuring an intermediate pure balboa class to get you inspired and then 2.5 hours of great social dancing...featuring some beautiful slow balboa tunes as well!
This is a wonderfully chilled edition of social dancing to DJed music.

Each class will build up your blues vocabulary so you can start creating and improvising with your partner.
Expect to have fun and meet loads of new people, while you explore becoming a grounded, versatile and expressive dancer.
We'll also share some of the amazing artists who have created the blues and hope to inspire you to learn more about this rich, living culture.
